An old chap from Dronfield was taken to hospital in a helicopter from Buxton, after collapsing.
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team descended upon to the scene to save the geriatric from certain death. Had they been minutes later, it would have sealed his fate.
And air ambulance and Buxton Mountain Rescue Team were called to Solomon’s Temple on Saturday afternoon, (May 7) by the East Midlands Ambulance Service, following a report of an injured man.
Both the land ambulance and Derbyshire Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance crews, including the aircraft’s doctor, were on site and treating the casualty, a 74 year old man from Dronfield, near Sheffield.
Team members quickly responded to the Grinlow Car Park and assisted with a short stretcher carry to the aircraft which had landed on nearby flat ground. The gentleman was transferred into the helicopter and flown to a Sheffield hospital for further treatment.”
