The award winning Dronfield Band will be celebrating their recent success at the Yorkshire Regional Championship with a concert at the Dronfield Civic Hall on Saturday 8th June 2013 at 7.30pm with a musical tour of the world.
Their musical journey will travel to France, Germany, Russia, Czech Republic, Spain, America, Argentina, New Zealand and China. In addition to the fabulous music to be played by “Dronfield’s best kept secret” many items will be accompanied by superb video clips to get everyone, young and old, into the holiday mood.
The band are also off on their own travels in September when they take up their invitation to represent Yorkshire at the 3rd Section National Finals at Cheltenham. This was achieved when they came first amongst what is accepted as the best bands in Britain at the heart of the British brass band music on the wonderful stage of The St George’s Hall, Bradford.
Playing the renowned Goff Richards test-piece, Hollywood, the trade press reported the band’s performance as having “bags of suave sophistication and musical stylishness. Restrained to open, their performance script soon developed into a one of classy individual and ensemble vignettes, all enhanced by direction from MD John Davis that would have put Steven Spielberg to shame”.
In addition to the invitation to the finals of the National Brass Band Championship Of Great Britain the band are also promoted to the 2nd Section grading.

They are priced at £8 per person however for an annual fee of £10 the tickets for this and two further concerts in Dronfield in November and December can be purchased at £4 per person.
The band runs a Friends Scheme and in addition to the discounted ticket cost members receive a Dronfield Band badge, priority seating arrangements, a quarterly newsletter and invitations to open band rehearsals.
