The Avenue in Chesterfield only launched at the end of December but it has quickly become the place to be for indie music, a one-stop shop for good music in Chesterfield, and you can quite clearly see why.
Boasting a whopping capacity of nearly two-thousand, unparalleled for a UK independent venue, and a variety of great gigs and cool club nights all in keeping with their overall brand.
On Friday 17th February, from 7pm, The Avenue will be hosting a Trainspotting themed club night aptly titled ‘Trainspotted’, making full use of their late license to open until the early hours of the morning.
As a tribute to Irvine Welsh and Danny Boyle’s 90’s masterpiece and its recent sequel, T2, all the hits from both films will be played on the night. Also, there will be giveaways on the night, with soundtrack CD’s, film posters, t-shirts and cinema tickets being given away to lucky party-goers.
Obviously, the event has picked up traction in part due to its clever marketing campaign, parodying the famous poster from the original film:
All this comes at the small cost of £5 on the door, for more on the event, or to plan the night and invite your mates, there is a Facebook event page.
